The Garvey
Group has proudly obtained company-wide Chain-of-Custody certification.
Bureau Veritas, a leading inspection, verification, auditing, testing
and certification company, certified all four of our facilities.
Bureau Veritas is recognized as an expert in helping clients comply
with standards and regulations relating to Quality, Health & Safety,
Environment and Social Responsibility. Chain-of-Custody tracks paper
products throughout their life cycle beginning with proper forestry
management all the way to consumption by the end-user. Companies
like The Garvey Group play a vital role in maintaining integrity
throughout the entire distribution chain.
We are proud to have earned
this status as environmental stewards. This status has brought awareness
and change within our company to not only produce products with sustainability
in mind but to change our mind set in how we produce and where our
resources come from. Lowering our environmental exposure
and reducing our impact on the environment has evolved into a way
of doing business and a way of reducing our carbon footprint.
As we take these necessary steps, we hope that you, our loyal customers,
will take similar steps to ensure the sustainability of our environment.
You can now depend on us to provide you with your printed material
on certified papers through our chain-of-custody with Forest
Stewardship Council (FSC) and Sustainable
Forestry Initiative (SFI). We’re
also using lower volatile organic compound (VOC) press solvents and
solutions and virtually zero VOC-emitting inks, coatings and UV inks
to benefit the environment.
Garvey’s facilities are now certified
for two independent forest management agencies. These certifications
place us in a small group of commercial printers that have obtained
dual certifications from both FSC and SFI.
Forest Stewardship Council - FSC
The FSC has developed a set of principles
and criteria for responsible forest management that is consistently
applied to all FSC-certified forests worldwide. The program certifies
wood products recognized as coming from "well-managed" forests
adhering to strict environmental and socioeconomic standards.
Sustainable
Forestry Initiative - SFI
SFI is a program based on nine
principles that address economic, environmental, cultural and legal
issues, in addition to a commitment to continuously improve sustainable
forest management.
In partnership with these two national environmental groups, we are
proud to be able to promote sustainable forestry management throughout
the world.
